Cashel Cottage

Nestled in the foothills of the Tsitsikamma Mountains, Cashel Cottage is the perfect place to relax and explore the many delights of The Crags, Plettenberg Bay, Natures Valley and the Garden Route. The farm boasts a network of well-maintained trails through fynbos and forest, two large freshwater dams and an abundance of birdlife. The private, self-contained cottage is an easy drive to many stunning beaches and animal sanctuaries, with numerous adventure activities to be enjoyed in the area. The accommodation This charming private cottage sleeps 6 people comfortably. It has 3 bedrooms, one with a double bed and two with twin beds. There is a well-equipped kitchen for self-catering, a bathroom with shower, and an open-plan lounge and dining area with a wood burning fireplace for the colder wintry days. The spacious outdoor patio area and braai/fire-pit overlook the lily-fringed farm dams and mountains. On the property: to do The extensive freshwater dams on the property are fed by natural springs. A refreshing swim on a hot summers day is a must; for the fishing enthusiast, Bass fishing is an option to while away the day. A canoe and other watercraft are available to paddle around the dams. Paths meander through the fynbos and forest, a delight for the avid birdwatcher. The neighbourhood: Animal sanctuaries: Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary, Monkeyland, Lawnwood Snake Sanctuary, Birds of Eden, The Elephant Sanctuary, and Tenikwa Wildlife Sanctuary. The Puzzle Park is a fun visit for the children. Beaches: Natures Valley and Keurboomstrand are a short drive away. Adventure activities: Bloukrans Bungee Jump, Canyoning with AfriCanyon, Black-water tubing on the Storms River, Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour zip lines and Hog Hollow Horse Trails. For the mountain-bike, hiking or trail-running enthusiast, the farm is situated in an area full of exciting exploring opportunities and trails. The Mill Centre and Peppermill Café showcases local art and craft and provides a delicious pit-stop for the hungry. The Barnyard Theatre hosts visiting artists The Crags Winelands showcase local wine and champagne produced on the neighbouring farms, with tasting rooms and tapas restaurants for a lazy lunch. Kurland Estate hosts Polo tournaments from December to April, and Katarina's restaurant is open for al fresco dining. Plettenberg Bay is close enough to enjoy the many restaurants, shops and beaches for swimming and surfing. Whale and dolphin watching tours, sailing and fishing trips can be arranged in the town. Moon Shine encompasses 14 hectares of unspoiled indigenous forest. With great respect to the environment a small and enchanting venue has been created for you to appreciate all the natural splendours. Experience the forest from the comfort of your stunningly hand crafted wooden cabin nestled among the trees. The Cabins: "Firefly" & "Bushpig" Perfect for 2 adults. "Firefly" and / or "Bushpig" cabins are open plan (with exception of the bathroom of course). There is a queen size bed, fireplace in the living area, and kitchenette with small fridge & stove. Both the living and sleeping areas have French doors opening onto an elevated and private deck. At a squeeze 1 small kid can be accommodated on an additional mattress on the floor. "Bushpig" has a flat screen TV with select DSTV channels. Free Wi-Fi is available at the Internet & Info Zone from 7:00 to 21:00. "Tree Frog" With easy access via a wooden walkway "Tree Frog" is elevated high amongst the trees offering magical views of the forest and its creatures. There is a bedroom with queen size bed downstairs, and an enticing loft sleeping area upstairs with 4 single beds. The kitchen and living area are open plan and there is a lovely open fireplace. French doors open onto the deck. Free Wi-Fi is available at the Internet & Info Zone from 7:00 to 21:00. "Vervet" A spacious 2 bedroom cabin, Vervet is special in many ways. Most notably is the superbly mosaic "shower tower" - reason enough to check-in to this cabin. Both the main bedroom and the lounge open onto the large, private deck. The second bedroom sleeps 4 on 2 generously proportioned sets of bunk beds. The living area is open plan to the kitchen with a fireplace in the lounge. "Vervet" has a flat screen TV with select DSTV channels. Free Wi-Fi is available at the Internet & Info Zone from 7:00 to 21:00. "Butterfly" Garden Cottage A fully restored farm cottage. Brightly coloured and creatively decorated. Enjoy the beautiful views from the wide verandah. Experience the unique shower tower finished in mosaic. There are 2 inter-leading bedrooms, one with queen size bed and the other with one single and one bunk bed, sleeping 5 people in total. Butterfly has a flat screen TV with select DSTV channels & free Wi-Fi. "Fly Me to The Moon" Kick off your heels and walk down a 50 meter foot path from where you park your car. Hidden in the forest canopy you will find a unique romantic hide-away.  Lots of light, with bold colours and small details, the cabin has everything 2 people might need to escape the crazy world for a while. That means no TV or cell phone reception. Instead you will find a Queen size tent-like bed with drop away sash window;  a private mosaic and glass shower with a view on the deck and an en suite bathroom with toilet & basin. There is a cosy fire place inside & braai area outside. There is a kitchenette with undercounter fridge, 2 plate stove with small oven, and it is fully equipped with crockery, cooking utensils, cutlery and all you need for self catering. The Carraighs

Nestled between Plettenberg Bay and Nature's Valley, in The Crags, in the Garden Route, The Carraighs offers guests a truly relaxing stay in an indigenous forest, with spectacular birdlife. Askop Road is a very quiet road, with large properties, lucky enough to still be populated with antelope, guinea fowl and other small creatures of the forest. Driving slowly down the short stretch of dirt road towards The Carraighs will mean you have a good chance of spotting a bush buck! The secluded location offers privacy, but the cottage is conveniently located within a 17km drive distance to Plettenberg Bay with its many shops and restaurants. Thislovely and comfortably furnished two-storey cottage has a main bedroom downstairs, with a double bed. The large dining and living area, has DSTV and WiFi The upstairs loft, with separate entrance has a double bed and two single beds, as well as a coffee table and sofa. The loft has a wooden deck with a beautiful view. However, there is no bathroom upstairs so it is necessary that those sleeping upstairs use the bathroom in the downstairs part of the house (and there is an outside staircase). For that reason, the upstairs bedroom is only suitable for older children and mobile adults. There is a couch/single bed in the lounge for a small child to sleep. There is also a fully-equipped, and modern kitchen downstairs, a full bathroom (shower and bath), and braai facilities available next to the swimming pool, as well a barbecue at the cottage. Meals can be enjoyed in the spacious living area or outside on the verandah. All linen is provided, although we do ask locals to bring towels if they can.No smoking allowed. No pets allowed. The wooden veranda is the perfect vantage point to appreciate the panoramic views of the forest and the birdlife and enjoy the peace and quiet. We are located in Askop Road which is one of the most beautiful locations in The Crags and home to Hog Hollow Horse Riding as well as the famous Plett Barnyard Theatre which hosts many shows throughout the year. There are many animal sanctuaries in close proximity. These include Monkeyland, Birds of Eden, the Elephant Sanctuary, the Lawnwood Snake Park and Tenikwa Wildlife Sanctuary. Just a bit further is Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve and many action sports like swimming with the seals, whale and dolphin watching, deep sea fishing, abseiling, canyoneering, bungi-jumping and sky-diving. Hiking in the forests or beaches (like Natures Valley, Keurbooms or Robberg) is popular because of our spectacular scenery and the birdlife really is extraordinary! We frequently spot KnysnaLoeries (Turaco) in our gardens. The area has also become well known for polo, and has been producing very fine wines in recent years! Bramon Wine Farm are our neighbours and you are a five minute drive away from their wine-tasting and excellent restaurant which specializes in tapas food of a very high quality. There is even a wine route in The Crags! In total we now have four wine farms to visit within a ten kilometer area. The Mill Centre is also nearby with its various craft shops and the Pepper Mill restaurant. Plettenberg Bay is an easy 20 minute drive away, with many more dining opportunities and plenty shopping ! The Garden Route is, of course, most famous for its spectacular beaches, the Knysna and Tsitsikamma Forests, and beautiful wide river mouths of Storms River and others. There are laundry facilities nearby. We will do a change of linen on request, for long stays, but do not offer other laundry facilities as we are in the country and rely on rainwater. ------------------------------ ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY Please place recyclables in the bin provided. The Wildside Cabin

If you are looking for natural wilderness and a reclusive peaceful holiday away, but 10 minutes from everything that is happening, escape to the 'Wildside Cabin' on a beautiful small holding in The Crags. The Wild Side Cabin overlooks 10 hectares of beautiful pristine Fynbos, natural undisturbed indigenous vegetation and the foothills of the Tsitsikamma Mountains. Walk through the trails, surrounded by the flora and experience the complex biodiversity of the Garden Route and swim in the dams on the farm or quietly watch the wild birdlife. The property borders the Rondebosch river, a tributary of the Keurbooms river running from the Tsitsikamma mountains. There are waterfalls and caves on this river to explore within 10 minutes walking access. It is great cycling and hiking territory. Treehouse Cottage

TreeHouse Cottage is situated in a very quiet, rural Estate surrounded by indigenous forest in the Crags, near Plettenberg Bay. The owners of the cottage are artists, Sally Rush and Margaret Knight. They are great nature-lovers and particularly great bird-lovers, as is obvious by the extraordinary bird-life which have been encouraged to visit over the years and now are seen in the garden every day. Even the Knysna Loerie (Turaco) is almost certain to be seen daily. Please feel welcome to ask them to see their studio, where they produce their fine art works. This cute wooden cottage has a separate entrance and secure parking, with stunning views of the forest. There is a charming wooden deck, with a Weber Braai, and a peaceful and private place to sit and enjoy the birdlife and sounds of nature. Facilities: Treehouse Cottage is open-plan and consists of a living area with DSTV and a decoder. There is a double bed and two small single beds (suitable for children), and a modern bathroom with a shower. There is also a fan and a heater to ensure your comfort throughout the year. There is free Wi-Fi. The cottage is fully equipped for self-catering and is not serviced except for longer stays. Tea, coffee and basic essentials are provided, as well as all linen. The Area: Treehouse Cottage is in Ashlands Estate, in Askop Road which has an automatic boom with a security camera which closes the road to traffic at night, simply as a safety precaution, it works extremely well! We have no crime problems and feel very safe walking around outside during the day and night, but don't forget to ask for the code for the boom so that you can get in and out at any time. Ashlands also has an automatic gate and you will be given a remote for both. Wishbone Waters

Wishbone Waters is located 2.5km from the N2 in the rural farming area of The Crags, between Plettenberg Bay and Nature's Valley. Birdlife is prolific, and there are lots of possibilities for walking and cycling in the local and greater region, to access stunning fynbos and forest areas. Many of the local farms are affiliated to the Redford Conservancy, and ascribe to recommended nature conservation principles. Self-Catering Accommodation The Cottage (sleeps 4) is set in a fynbos and garden area of the farm, with an uninterrupted view of Peak Formosa and the Tsitsikamma mountains. It has 2 comfortable bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with twin beds. The living and dining area opens to a patio. There is a fully equipped kitchen, and an outside barbecue. The bathroom has a bath and shower, with a separate toilet. There is a perimeter fence at the cottage, and a well-controlled pet is welcome by arrangement. The Farmhouse (sleeps 8 comfortably) has an equally stunning view of the mountains. It is on a part of the farm that has cattle camps used for grazing and for growth of feedcrops. Approximately 4 hectares of land around the farmhouse is sectioned off and has groves of indigenous trees and plants - the area around the house itself is kept mowed with some indigenous garden. Eight guests can be accommodated in the 4 bedrooms, and one more guest can be accommodated on the sleeper couch. There are 3 bathrooms. The large living and dining area opens to an outside patio that has fine views of the Tsitsikamma mountains and Peak Formosa. The main bedroom is downstairs, with an ensuite bathroom. There is another bathroom (shower and toilet) off to the side of the kitchen. There are three twin bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, as well as another small and quiet living room. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, and there is an outside barbecue area with picnic table. In general - A swimming-pool and spacious pavilion near the main farmhouse are available for guest use. Regular servicing is included, usually 3x per week. Extra servicing can be arranged. Sheets and towels are changed every 4 days within longer stays. Personal washing and ironing can be done by arrangement within longer stays. Beach towels can be supplied. Braai facilities (firewood supplied). TV available (bring your own decoder and card). Simple meals can be provided by arrangement. Local attractions within 5-7km: Birds of Eden, Tenikwa, Monkeyland, the Elephant Sanctuary, various wine estates, Lawnwood Snake Sanctuary, The Mill and The Peppermill Restaurant, Kurland Polo Estate and Hotel, Nature's Way Farm Stall. These and other destinations are included in the "Cruise The Crags" tourist information route. Beaches are at Nature's Valley and Keurboomstrand, each approximately 15 minutes' scenic drive away. Plettenberg Bay itself is 22km from the farm, and has more beaches, golf courses and plenty of options for shoppingand entertainment. Deep-sea fishing and whale-watching excursions are also available. Knysna is about 45 minutes drive from The Crags, as is Stormsriver with its adventure attractions - the Canopy Tour, Blackwater Tubing, etc.

Natures Way is a traditional, family run Farm Stall that started in 2001 and is situated on our working dairy farm. We specialise in homemade, local and imported cheeses. Bushbuck Cottage 4 people - 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom Also a recent addition - the lovely wooden deck faces our Indigenous Forest. It is perfect for a family with 2 children. Keurbooms

Holiday log home with a magnificent view at Keurboomstrand. Overlooking the bay up to Roberg. Sleeping 8 people in 3 bedrooms. Two with double beds one with 4 single beds stacked. 2 Bathrooms (one with shower one with bath). Combined dining room, lounge and kitchen with stove, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer fridge and sink. TV antenna is installed but guests must bring there own TV and decoder. There is a large veranda which overlook the see and the beach. You may braai on the veranda while watching the dolphins playing in the waves and the magnificent sunsets over Roberg. Only five minutes walk to the main beach. Restaurant at the main beach. Armed response. There is an apartment attached to the house which you may rent as one unit with the house if you are a larger group. The apartment has two bedrooms, one with double bed and one with two stacked single beds. Two bathrooms with showers. Combined dining room, lounge and kitchen with stove, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer fridge and sink. Large covered veranda overlooking the beach.

Gulls Way

Gulls Way is a refurbished wooden beach cottage, in Keurbooms Strand, near Plettenberg Bay. The cottage has both sensational sea views, and a beautiful view of the indigenous forest on the other side of the house. The beach is 10 minute walk away - although the sea views are uninterrupted, the cottage is on a hill above the beach. You will love staying at this beach cottage, it has stunning views of the sea, and also of the indigenous forest. The neighbours are close, but they enjoy their privacy and peace and quiet as much as our guests do. The cottage is peaceful, in quiet surroundings but it is nice and central for all the activities nearby. Gulls Way is fully equipped for self-catering. All linen is provided as well as beach towels, chairs and small umbrellas. There are two bedrooms, one with a Queen-sized bed and the other with two single beds. There is also a child-sized day bed in the living area. Sleeps maximum 5 (max. 4 adults). The bathroom contains a shower and toilet, and hand-basin, and there is an outside utility room, with a washing machine and ironing facilities, as well as a second toilet. There is cellphone reception, DSTV and Wi-Fi facilities. A paved outdoor entertainment area has comfortable furniture and a Weber Braai is provided. Just a bit further is Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve and many action sports like swimming with the seals, whale and dolphin watching, deep sea fishing, abseiling, canyoneering, bungi -jumping and sky-diving are available. Hiking in the forests or beaches is popular because of our spectacular scenery and the birdlife is extraordinary! We frequently spot Knysna Loeries (Turaco) in our gardens. Keurbooms Beach is a mere 5 - 10 minute walk away. We have three restaurants in the immediate vicinity, the hugely popular Enrico's, which is on the beach. The Berliner is also a child-friendly restaurant as is The Dunes. Thyme and Again Farmstall have a delicious variety of freshly baked produce and serve delicious breakfasts and lunches, as well as organic greens and frozen meat and chicken. Nature's Valley is a 20 minute drive away, and Robberg Nature Reserve, on the other side of Plettenberg Bay is a beautiful place to walk amongst the fynbos and unspoilt coastline. The Crags area has also become well known for polo, and has been producing very fine wines in recent years! Bramon Wine Farm, in The Crags, is a ten minute drive away and there you can enjoy their wine-tasting and excellent restaurant which specializes in tapas food of a very high quality. In recent years, The Crags has also developed its own Wine Route, with three other Wine Farms to visit! The Mill Centre is also in The Crags, with its various craft shops and the Pepper Mill restaurant. Plettenberg Bay is an easy 10 minute drive away, with many more fine dining opportunities and plenty shopping ! But of course, the Garden Route is most famous for its spectacular beaches, the Knysna and Tsitsikamma Forests, and beautiful wide river mouths. With our beautiful beach cottage as your base, you can discover the Garden Route, from Wilderness to Jeffreys Bay, the one day hike on the Otter Trail from Storms River mouth to the waterfalls and shorter walks through the ancient indigenous forests in the area. ------------------------------ ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY Please place recyclables in the bin provided. Imperani

Imperani has an upstairs flat attached to the main house with its own entrance. It consists of 2 bedrooms (one double bed, the other 2 single beds), a bathroom (with a shower, no bath) and an open plan kitchen into the dining area and lounge. Both bedrooms have sliding doors opening onto balconies, with the lounge having a stack door opening the entire one wall onto the same balcony as the main bedroom. The main bedroom and lounge are north facing with a view of the indigenous forest while the second bedroom has a view of the ocean. The kitchen has a fridge, a microwave oven, a four plate gas hob, an oven and double bowl sink. From the kitchen there is a view over the main house roof of the ocean, Plettenberg Bay and Robberg. Imperani is situated approximately 12 Km from Plettenberg Bay on a cliff in the tranquil village of Keurboomstrand on the Garden Route. The front lawn of the property has an exquisite unobstructed view of the very popular The Waves blue flag beach 60 meters below the property as well as the entire Plettenberg Bay and Robberg in the distance. Dolphin sightings are common and whales frequenting the bay during the months of May through October can also be viewed from the lawn. Within a 30 Km radius there are numerous restaurants, shopping malls, golf courses, and attractions such as Monkey Land, Birds of Eden, a reptile park, wolf sanctuary as well as the Knysna Elephant Park. Other activities to consider include surfing, rock or deep sea fishing, river boating, scuba diving and many more options to be enjoyed. A number of 4 x 4 routes, hiking trails and bungee jumping off the Bloukrans Bridge (the highest commercial bungee in the world) are available to the more adventurous. Bird watching is very popular in the area with its wetlands, fine bush, grassland and forest habitat in close proximity of each other. 238 species of birds have been viewed in the area. In the months of November to February the Knysna Loeries are frequent visitors to the Milkwood trees in the garden. Bed linen and towels are supplied. There is unlimited Wi-Fi. Milkwood Glen 17

This cottage has 2 bedrooms, bathroom, lounge and kitchen, and is well equipped for 4 people, including linen, washing machine, TV, with a pool in a secure complex.  We have 3 portable fans, heater fixed against the main room's wall and portable blow heater. Bring own towels. Walk approx 70m to the private access Keurbooms beach. Here you will find a large wooden deck from where you can savour the spectacular panoramic sea view, whales breaching  and dolphins dancing across the waves. Enjoy secure walks along the  pristine beach to the nearby 'blue flag' beach or take a dip in the wild Indian Ocean water. Fishing is excellent. Situated about 10 km from the main swimming beaches in Plettenberg Bay, and close to lagoon (cruises, fishing, canoes etc) Nearby facilities include Golf, Sea cruises, excellent restaurants, Monkeyland, bungee jumping, hikes, and a host of different family adventures.

Treat yourself to an unforgettable holiday! This comfortable, fully equipped, very spacious self- catering beachfront family home will restore your equanimity. There are five airy bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a separate shower, and a guest toilet. The vast, partly double volume, open plan lounge, living, dining and kitchen area is perfect for entertaining, and the dining table seats twelve. In winter the huge Jetmaster fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. All rooms have magnificent views with combinations of sea, sky and beach. Three of the bedrooms and the living area open onto sea views with large sliding glass doors. The picturesque paved driveway leads to double garages and adjoining staff quarters. Our favourite feature of the house is the immense tiled deck that surrounds the house on three sides. From the deck one experiences the essence of beachfront living: the panoramic view. One can sit for hours and watch dolphins play directly in front of the house. During winter and spring the bay teems with Southern Right-, and Humpback whales; and year-round one can see the resident Bryde's whales. A 10km sweep of unspoilt, beach extends to the east and west of the house, flanked on the west by a magnificent view of Robberg and Plettenberg Bay; and on the east by the distant peaks of the Tsitsikamma Mountains. The estate features a private boardwalk, just metres from the driveway, that provides direct access onto the beach. In the evenings we enjoy the sunsets, and then watch as the jewel-encrusted hill that is Plettenberg Bay at night comes to light. Keurbaai estate comprises 20 hectares of privately-owned, secluded coastal bush environment. One can simply assimilate the peace and serenity of 10 Keurbaai, or of course enjoy the attractions, activities, and facilities that abound in this prime tourist destination. The Dunes Resort, Unit No 130

This luxury loft apartment (2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms) is situated at the 4 Star Dunes Resort on the Garden Route less than 10km from Plettenberg Bay town centre. This spacious unit is situated in a 24 hour security complex. It is equipped with a complete kitchen although guests can also dine at the restaurant in the Resort. The Unit has an undercover braai area and carport. The Resort is a short walk from the beach (500m) which, during peak season, is protected by lifeguards. The ground floor level of the unit comprises of an open plan living room and fully equipped kitchen. There is a bathroom with a shower, basin and a toilet. The first floor level consists of 2 bedrooms (1 with King size bed and a cupboard, and the other room with 2 single beds and a cupboard) as well as a bathroom with bath, basin and a toilet. Linen and towels are provided (you will only need to bring your own beach towels). A linen change will be arranged if you stay for a long period. PLEAS NOTE: The Unit will only be available from 2pm on day of arrival. If possible, the time can be altered on arrangement. The Unit must be vacated by 10am on day of departure. Kostaplenti is situated in Nature's Valley which is surrounded by indigenous forest, mountains, lagoon and the sea. Kostaplenti is uniquely placed 30 meters from the beach as well as opposite the shop/restaurant. The accommodation comprises of 2 units which can be rented separately. Unit A: The main house consists of 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms (4 en-suite) sleeping 12 people. It is a double storey with a top floor 3 Bedrooms and 3 Bathrooms ( 2 en-suite). Large lounge, dining room, kitchen, wrap around deck as well as a deck in the tree tops (3rd storey) with stunning views of mountain and the sea. The Ground Floor has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (2 en-suite) lounge/dining room, kitchen/washroom. There is a barbeque area and a sleeper table seating 16 people under the milk wood trees. Unit B: The apartment sleeps 8 people. Double storey. Top floor with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, lounge/dining area and an open plan kitchen leading onto a deck. The ground floor has 2 bedrooms sharing a bathroom. It has its own barbeque facility and parking and is totally private from the main house; however the apartment shares the outside washroom with large washing machine and tumble drier with the main house. Kostaplenti is upmarket self-catering accommodation which truly lends itself to a very comfortable and relaxing holiday with all home comforts. A visit to Kostaplenti will enable the guests to enjoy the prolific birdlife on the property. The Knysna Loerie is a regular visitor among others. Bushbuck is often seen in the village. Nature's Valley has been voted one of South Africa's top 20 beaches resulting in a lively vibe during school holidays. However it is quiet and tranquil the rest of the year. Situated 29 km from Plettenberg Bay which boasts very good restaurants and good shopping, guests have the best of both worlds within easy access.

Nectar Cottage

Surrounded by beach, forest, and river lagoon; Nectar Cottage is unique in that it is located inside a South African National Park: Nature's Valley in the Tsitsikamma. The Pearl of the Garden Route!
